EVALUATION OF EFFECTIVENESS OF TRAINING BASED ON EXPERIENCE AMONG LOWER AND MIDDLE LEVEL EMPLOYEES IN INDIAN PRIVATE BANKS: A STUDY OF MUMBAI REGION

Abstract

The banking industry operates in a high stress and high risk environment as the rapid advancement of information and communications technology has increased the complexity in operational processes. Employees play a critical role in this juncture, as they are responsible for the execution of the day to day activities as well as safeguarding their system from external attacks. For this reason, they undergo rigorous training and development programs periodically, to upgrade their skills. It is important for the banks to evaluate the experiences and the implement training programs on the basis of the experience. Therefore, the study aims to check the effectiveness of experience based training programme. A quantitative survey was conducted amongst 138 employees of private banks in Mumbai region. Findings of the assessment implicated that training based on experiences of the employees has helped in improving the performance of the employees as well as develop capabilities to tackle the future challenging situations.
