IMPACT OF CHINA'S POLICY ON INDIA-NEPAL RELATIONS

Abstract

Nepal and India enjoy excellent bilateral relations.However, many aspects of Indo-Nepal relations are actually related to the origins of the modern nation state. Established on centuries-old connections of culture, history, religion and tradition, this relationship is broad, close and multifaceted and is more pronounced in social, political, religious, cultural and economic engagement with each other. The open border between the two countries is an important Specialty of our relations. Trade and other related relations between India and Nepal have their own importance. Research and studies show that both countries have comparative cost advantage in doing business among themselves for several reasons. The exchange of high level visits has been the hallmark of India-Nepal relations during the last five decades. In practice, Nepal has seen a cordial and friendly relationship with China while relations with India have been friendly and hostile. Nepal is strongly committed to the 'One China Policy' and has signed the OBOR (One Belt One Road). Indian economic assistance has played an important role in Nepal's development in the past. This paper has attempted to explore various types of relations and importance between India and Nepal. Due to more and necessary trade and economic cooperation between the two countries, their relations are becoming more important
