Teamwork for Organizational Effectiveness: An Analysis of Insurance Company

Abstract

The ability to work as part of a team member is one of the most essential element in today’s business world.  The main purpose of this study is to identify the effectiveness of teamwork in Oriental Insurance Company. Furthermore, it explores the key contributing factors that lead to team effectiveness. To test the respondent’s views on teamwork practice, data have been collected through a questionnaire survey from 49 senior officers, officers and other levels employees of a firm. The findings of this study show that teamwork is one of the effective tools to get the expected results. However, working in a team is found to be less frequent in the study firm. The study concluded that proper utilization of resources, shared leadership, task interdependence, support from management, contributes to the effectiveness of the team. Therefore, it is believed that the results of this study provide a clear road map with which policy makers of insurance company can lead their firms in future.
