Success Factors of Irrigation Infrastructure Projects in Vietnam

Abstract

Irrigation’s infrastructure projects include dams, water reservoirs, culverts, pumping stations, water transmission, and transfer systems, revetments, embankments and other works serving irrigation management and exploitation. Irrigation infrastructure projects contribute to environmental protection, adaptation to climate change, and water source security and combats against natural disasters. These projects, however, have not met the development requirements of big cities. Major provinces and cities in Vietnam are suffering severe inundation from rain, floods, and flood tides. Therefore, this paper presents the main success factors of irrigation infrastructure projects in Vietnam by applying the Best Nonfuzzy Performance approach.
