Abstract

The D-decomposition technique which is very powerful tool was first presented by Yu. I. Neimark in 1948 for the asymptotic stability in linearized multi-parameter autonomous system. This technique is faster as compared to all conventional techniques of determining the stability. In this paper, the stability analysis of three phase induction motor drive which operates in closed loop constant Voltage/frequency (V/f) mode is carried out using D-decomposition technique. The functional block diagram of the drive system is developed and the corresponding simplified block diagram is obtained. With the help of this diagram, the overall transfer function of the drive is determined and the stability analysis for linear and non-linear system for different values of voltage and frequency keeping V/f ratio constant, is carried out. Mat lab codes are used for the analysis.
