Assamese Campus Novel: A Brief Study of Form and Development

Abstract

The Campus Novel is a recent development as a literary  form, though it has an established history in world literature since the publication of “Lucky Jim” by Kingsley Amis, in 1954. This form of narrative has gain a worldwide readership and soon it spread to other parts of the world, even though most of the literary critic has been discussing the nature and characteristics of campus novel, yet it is very difficult to confine it in a fixed definition. This paper attempts to analyze the nature of Assamese Campus novel as a form and its chronological development in Assamese literature.
