The Role of Women in Social System (With reference to Assamese Society)

Abstract

The role of women in social system and discourse is unique and special. Women are considered as lamp of a society. The women might enlighten everybody’s mind. Women can actively participate in societal discourse for its well-being. It will be wrong to say that women’s thinking capacity or wisdom is lower than males. Time has been proving it time and again. Women, too, can upgrade a society’s state provided they get conducive or suitable environment for that. It can be conceded that for a healthy society, some kind of co-operation and understanding between man and women is a must. It has been seen that women also play a strong role in societal discourse in Assam. In this study we would discuss about the role of women in the social system in Assam.
