Behavior of Clay Shale Soil on Slope Stability in Polosiri Village, Bawen, Semarang
Abstract
Slope stability in clay shale requires special attention in the implementation of civil building construction work. Under natural conditions, the characteristics of clay shale have a strong character, strong on the bearing capacity and slope stability, but if in the open it is affected by the weather, the characteristics will experience a decrease in physical and mechanical properties. The purpose of this research is to study the Behavior of Clay Shale Soil on Slope Stability. The methodology carried out was taking 6 sample points at the location of the village of Polosiri - Bawen to see the physical and mechanical characteristics of the factors of slope to its stability. The conclusion from the slake durability test, obtained the durability index in samples L.1, L.3, L.4, L5, and L.6 categorized as very low rock resistance levels and L.2, categorized as a very low level of rock resistance and easily crushed and the results of free swelling tests on samples L.1, L2, L3, L.4, and L.5 are categorized as moderate development level, while sample L.6 is categorized as developmental level high. While the results of the shale rating values of samples L.1, L.2, L.3, L.4, L.5, and L.6 are categorized as low with safe slopes ranging from 7 ° - 22 ° or the slope ratio is between 8H. : 1V - 3H: 1V and the value of the compaction layer thickness ranges from 0 - 400 mm, for the density of compaction values ranges from 1.72 - 2.10 t / m3.
