Automatic Query Expansion using Probabilistic Score Function with Collaborative filtering to retrieve Semantic documents

Abstract

Automatic Query Expansion (AQE)is the process in Information Retrieval which increase the  user information retrieval performance in relevance feedback system. The relevance feedback system selects relevant or non-relevant documents for automatic query expansion. In AQE, the  initial user query is reformulated by adding the relevant terms in the initial user query. The selection of candidate terms in relevance feedback system is a challenging task. In this paper, We proposed an approach Probabilistic Score Function and Collaborative Filtering based Automatic Query Expansion (PSFCF-AQE) , to combine the terms from various term selection methods into a unique list of terms.The experimental results show that the higher precision, recall, filtering efficiency and minimum processing time compared to state-of-the –art works.
