Design and Implementation of Low Power Energy Efficient 2D Median Filter

Abstract

 Image De-noising is an important technique in many applications, median filter is an efficient solution for this problem. This Paper Presents a Two Dimensional median filter which is   Energy Efficient and having low power consumption, Operating Speed  is the prime focus of the Existing Architectures which results in un necessary power dissipation. In Proposed architecture we present a energy efficient algorithm for making the system more robust and it is developed on a Cadence 90-nm technology. The energy per sample for 8 bit test pattern has been reduced by 64% and power consumption is reduced by 44% when compared to existing architectures.
