Abstract

Electronic payment systems (EPS) relies onE-commerce, and because of the e-commerce, EPS become more important to companies and consumers. The use of EPS in Iraq has many difficulties with its deployment situation, although it is considered to be at its early stage of adoption. The challenges include trust and security,security can be described by the customer as a first assessment of the safety on the electronic transactions throughEPS, while trust is the second assessment of the customer on the electronic transactions through EPS with their expectations. Security and trust were recognized as major variables that must be included for the development of e-commerce-based EPS. This indicates challenge for the Iraqi Government to use e-service, in particular the EPS. Nevertheless, there were a lack of researcheson security and trust challenges for the use of electronic payment systems by people in Iraq. This paper examinedthese challenges through survey researchby proposing the security and trust frameworkto use of EPS by Iraqi people. The purpose of this survey analysis is to identify the security and trust variables, their effectofusing EPSby Iraqi people.
