Abstract

Existing congestion system concentrates on improving sender’s rate by suppressing receiver’s rate and has a problem for dynamic data rates. Due to which the network gets congested and paralyzed. In this paper we propose contention-based multihop congestion control (CB-MCC) algorithm which considers hop by hop transmission detecting queue length of sender node and receiver node by exchanging control message request to send (RTS) and clear to send (CTS) along with flag command indication 0 (no congestion) and 1(congestion). When one node is congested CB-MCC dynamically adapts and adjusts the contention window of a node which allows the current node to map available channel and controls the congestion process of next hop node. Simulation is carried on event driven simulation tool, the proposed CB-MCC is compared with existing congestion control method and parameter like throughput, delay and packet delivery ratio is analysed.
