Abstract

Since from the decade, increasing demand on IoT enabled wireless communications in many real time applications. However, the increasing demands leads to number of concerns for the IoT enabled networks such as quality of service (QoS), security, scalability, and reliability. The applications like smart traffic monitoring in which sever mobility and scalability problems leads  the chances of malicious and unreliable communications are more as compared to other sensor networks. Thus, the for such IoT enabled applications, secure communications is challenging research problem. Several solutions presented since last decade for wireless communications under the domain of trust based and cryptography based with their advantages and disadvantages. In this paper, we current the model of a novel routing protocol based on Named Data Networking (NDN) called NDN based Cross layer Attack Resistant Protocol (NCARP). We exploit the advantages of NDN architecture to add some inbuilt features of NDN related network security and privacy. To secure and reliable communications NCARP design in which the trust assessments of every node depend on routing layer, physical layer, and Median Access Control (MAC) layer to diminish the network overhead. The cross-layer design enables to reduce the network overhead and delay performances caused by cryptography and trust based methods at routing layer. The experimental results show that NCARP protocol having the efficient attack detection performance and improved the QoS compared to state-of-art methods.
