Factors Influencing Migration: Application of Truncated Poisson Regression

Abstract

In the present paper, we have formulated truncated Poisson distribution and regression models and the applicability of these models are tested by dispersion index at each sample point. After that the model is applied to study the rural-urban migration pattern and behaviour of male migrants (aged>=15) belonging to the study region.  The interaction effects of various covariates through multiplication models are also discussed. The study leads to some interesting findings on rural-urban migration pattern and mechanism.
