Innovative Automated Teaching Evaluation (IATE) Based on Sentiment Analysis

Abstract

This paper propose innovative of automated teaching evaluation named IATE based on sentiment analysis which the innovation development for teaching efficiency evaluation in higher education. The advantages for support the instructors’ evaluation patterns to interpret students’ feedback messages via sentiment analysis through the teaching evaluation system, specificity in order to analyze the teaching evaluation for each period of during semester. The formative evaluation can assign the frequency of evaluation depending on the teachers’ appointment. Notifying current assessment results will support teachers to keep up with student needs and more convenient link with social platform communities. The results of experiments of the teaching management from three universities in Thailand claim the interpretation performance of the innovation development for teaching efficiency evaluation system and interpret the meaning of the messages with excellent level of satisfaction (88.52%). The convenient for the students to get feedback and to reflect their instructors’ teaching efficiency during class management. Importantly, the formative teaching evaluation system can reports the results of teaching skill by recently and suggests how the teacher can improve their teaching methods during the semester which is appropriate for educational quality development..
