Analysis of the Efficiency of Innovative Activities of It-Clusters in the Economy of Ukraine as an Instrument of Competitiveness Growth

Abstract

The paper analyzes the impact of innovation and cluster development on global competitiveness using international economic rankings (global competitiveness index and global innovation index), including some of their parameters related to the characteristics of innovation clusters, as well as using methods of regression and correlation analysis and econometric modeling. Based on the data of the WEF report «Global Competitiveness Report 2019» conducted correlation and regression analysis to establish the relationship between the following parameters: «State of cluster development» – «Global Competitiveness». It was found that the linear one-factor model most accurately reflects the relationship between the studied parameters.

It is determined that the growth of competitiveness is possible under the condition of formation and effective functioning of the IT sector. In the process of studying the activities of IT-clusters of Ukraine, 5 main centers of development of the IT sector were established: Kyiv, Kharkiv, Lviv, Odesa and Dnipro. The stages and the system of relative indicators for the analysis of social and economic development of the innovative IT-cluster are offered and its approbation is carried out.
