Abstract

This article presents building fire evacuation analysis using phased evacuation model based on fire scenario and its function in fire risk applications. Evacuation in high rise building is a unique problem. Also, sometimes the building need not be evacuated fully given adequate fire-fighting measures are available and the fire is adequately compartmentalized. The density of human flow is high due to low egress components and higher volume of people to be evacuated. In this paper, the phased evacuation algorithm implemented for staircase and also lift included. This study aims to compare both approaches with respect to the speedy evacuation of a high-rise building. a scenario model was created using pathfinder and studied the performance of phased evacuation model to reduce the human flow density on staircase and also practicality of using lift in egress situation. Finally, the overall phased evacuation chart using staircase associated by lift and exclusive of lift is developed and also compared the evacuation time of both the models with the Total evacuation models. With that fire evacuation system can be designed using IOT devices.
