Abstract

Wireless sensor network is a connection of mobile nodes which are connected to each other through wireless medium. Wireless sensor network has various applications such as monitoring, military, tracking etc. As they are connected through wireless medium so they are prone to severe to various types of attacks. Our focus is on data security, for this purpose we chose the network with AODV routing protocols. Sinkhole attack is an injurious attack. Sinkhole node will absorb all the data packets which are transmitted by the source to the destination by making itself a sink and it will represent itself as a nearest corresponding neighbor by providing fast reply with high quality frequency to source.. We also analyze different network parameters like PDR, loss ratio, average end to end delay, routing overhead in three different scenarios. Outputs in various scenarios are discussed. For simulation purpose, we use network simulator version 2 (NS2) on Ubuntu OS.
