The Role of the Family in Creative Education from the Viewpoint of Teachers of King Abdullah II Schools of Excellence in Jordan
Abstract
Unlike conventional education where students are passive in almost all levels of learning, and creative thinking not challenged, creative education gives room to students to harness their creative abilities using their imagination and creative thinking to generate new and stunning ideas. and the family has been identified as key influencer in the creative abilities of students. This study aims to determine the role of the family in creative education from the standpoint of teachers of King Abdullah II Schools of Excellence in Jordan. A simple random sampling was done and the data statistically analyzed. The result revealed that the family plays a significant role in creative education (73.0%). Roles of family in creative education encompass involvement in the process of learning of students and effective communication with the school. The study also revealed the fact that children (not even the talented ones) are not born independent. The family is and should remain a stronghold where the student is nurtured and nourished.
