Abstract

Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing is a modulation technique that is being referred for many latest wireless telecommunication standards like LTE (long-term evaluation). One of the compelling setbacks of OFDM is Peak to average power ratio (PAPR). It adopts partial transmit sequence to decrease the PAPR. We introduce a modified UFMC technique which shows better results when compared to OFDM.  In this paper Firefly algorithm is adopted to minimize the search complexity and PAPR. A comparison between PTS-OFDM and M-UFMC with and without firefly algorithm is performed
