The Impact of Public Relations in Managing Students Related Crisis in Nigerian Tertiary Institutions

Abstract

The study addressed public relations impact and management of the crisis in tertiary institutions. It sought to buffer the importance to management experts using a consultative involvement. The objectives to; determine the effect of quality institutional image and students unrest in tertiary institutions, evaluate the fees strategies used in prevention and management of students crisis in tertiary institutions and examine the effect of strategies used and tackling the challenges that have led to students unrest in tertiary institutions. The study was a survey that used 185 sample respondents. Data were analysed using SPSS. Findings revealed that there is no significant effect between the effect of fees payment and unrest in tertiary institutions in Nigeria, significant effect between fees payment and unrest in tertiary institutions and significant effect between cultism and students’ unrest in tertiary institutions. It was recommended that functional professional counselling units. Transparency and effective consultative communication should be strictly adhered to in these Institutions.
