Hybrid ANFIS-PI Controller for Power Quality Enhancement in Grid Connected Solar PV System

Abstract

The optimization of the PV power delivery is one of the needs for recent power system distribution side power generation. The quality of the power is important when it is connected to the grid. The PV power system requires the inverter for grid connection to synchronize the frequency and voltage magnitude. For controlling the inverter, the current regulator is much needed to control the current and for synchronization the Phase Locked Loop (PLL) is needed. Here a new method of Adoptive Neuro- fuzzy inference system (ANFIS) tuned PI controller (ANFIS-PI) is used to improve the performance of the power quality in the system. The undesired oscillations and THD can be minimized compared with conventional PI and HFL-PI controller. MATLAB based simulation is tested with dynamic PV input and results are found to be satisfactory.
