Abstract

In this paper, an idea is been proposed to enhance the life of the battery. In this project, the battery is provided with redundant cells and MOSFETs which act as switches. The voltage of the cells is estimated by the microcontroller. In the event, if the microcontroller senses the voltage to be lesser than the threshold voltage, then the damaged/weaker cell is supplanted with the redundant cell provided in the battery. This is done by switching the MOSFETs where the gate terminals of MOSFETs are controlled utilizing the microcontroller. In addition to this, cell balancing is also done utilizing these additional cells for the equilibrium of cells. The cell parameters are gotten from the microcontroller and the information is shown in the HMI screen.
