Abstract

Farming in the world constitutes about 50% of the total workforce. Lack of access to power supply and electricity makes it difficult for greenhouse farmers to take care of the crops and their agricultural area. With climate change and rainfall taking over the decade, it is essential to find smarter ways for irrigation. With IoT being the latest trend because of its simplicity and automation, smart agriculture can revolutionize traditional agricultural practices and reduce power consumption from the grid using the solar powered system. This system also helps in reducing water wastage. IoT has different features, including being dynamic, self-adaptive, self-configuring with a unique identity. By integrating this with the Information network, we can communicate data with different devices and systems. By using IoT, we can automate the entire process. In this paper, the proposed system is based on using data from various sensors. The status of the field is detected, and by using weather API, we can predict weather conditions that can boost crop productivity, control water usage, and make the process more effective. The proposed model's main objective is to overcome the limitations of irrigation systems in traditional, conventional farming. This model also generates alarms whenever an intrusion is detected in the agricultural field, thereby providing security and maintains the crops in their optimum environment for growth.
