Abstract

The basic dance poses of Sattriya dance, an Indian classical dance form are the ground exercises. This paper introduces a simple classification of some of the most commonly used ground exercises in two phases. Here 28 most commonly used ground exercises have been considered. In the first phase, 28 classes of ground exercises are categorized into two subclasses based on height to width ratio of the minimum bounding rectangle of each frame. In the second phase of classification ground exercises are individually recognized from the database within the class. Here inter frame energy difference and inter frame entropy difference features are extracted for each video.
