Feasibility Study into Possibility Potentials and Challenges of Renewable Energy in Libya

Abstract

The Libyan government has defined the strategic plan for renewable energy 2013-2030, which seeks to support efforts to achieve sustainability. This plan, in which renewable energy is developed that aims to ensure renewable energy development is a major priority for sustainable growth. This paper reviews the current state of renewable energy in Libya and pollution from traditional sources and explains the policies and procedures stipulated in 2013-2030 plan to support the energy sector. In addition, obstacles to achieving wind and solar energy in Libya were presented. The challenges facing the waste management system were also presented. Furthermore, the paper describes significant opinions on promoting renewable energy in Libya.
