Voice Analysis Through Matlab for Gender Detection

Abstract

This paper presents how work has been developed around the study of human voice samples, making use of statistical and computational tools (Matlab), to determine from a voice sample, the gender of the person who is speaking. As a basis for the analysis, we have some samples with which, by carrying out probability studies, we have determined a series of parameters that allow us to establish whether a new sample belongs to the male gender (man) or the female gender (woman).
