A New Approach for Analysis Networks Scale Based on SDN Concept
Abstract
The given work is devoted to assessment of control plan scalability in Software-Defined Network. The main functions of SDN controllers are considered in the work. Control plan structure can be represented centralized, decentralized and hierarchical control plan architecture. Each type of architecture has its own characteristics. Mathematical metric to quantify the scalability is proposed. The controllers’ performance for each structure are formalized and analyzed in terms of response time and relationships between elements. The comparison between different control plan architectures are analyzed by mathematical methods. The proposed approach allows to evaluate scalability for networks with different types of controllers.
