Power Analysis of Pre-Amplifier for Biosensing Medical Application
Abstract
This paper presents the integration of phototransistor with the current controlled voltage source (CCVS) type preamplifier to determine the performance of the enhance for the front-end amplifier. The design of this proposed preamplifier had been used in a specific range of frequency in optical measurement application with a built-in phototransistor model, 4N25 in LTspice. The validations of the performance had been done through the analysis of AC gain, noise configuration and transient response with 0.18μm CMOS technology. Results show that 1.31 μ W had been consumed with the loading effects of 50kΩ and 2 pF capacitive and resistive loads respectively. It could be categorized as a small range of power consumption compared to the existing optical measurement application. The CCVS preamplifier showed the improvements in output power level and could be deemed for suitable use in the optical biomedical application as boosts for the weaker incoming signal of electrolytes biosensing.
