A Novel Approach of Handwriting Analysis for Dysgraphia Type Diagnosis

Abstract

Dysgraphia is a specific learning disability that affects written expression. It reflects the difficulty in putting thoughts on paper and poor handwriting. The lack of Space knowledge, fine motor skills, and dysfunctional cognitive skills affect the handwriting of learners with Dysgraphia. In present work, modules for motor skill diagnosis, handwriting analysis for space knowledge, and spelling checker for cognitive strength have been designed and incorporated into an Intelligent Tutoring System developed for Learning Disabled. The identification of the type of Dysgraphia by analyzing its symptoms has been presented. This paper demonstrates the data collection and identification, through a module for handwriting problems to develop a profile of learners with learning disabilities.
