Abstract

Background:  Particularly freshmen, are significantly vulnerable for stress because they have entered newly in the environment.1,2 For the first time several college students move far from home. Therefore, knowledge on stress management is very much important in first year students.

Objectives: Study investigated the effectiveness of STP on stress management.

METHODS

A 50 nursing students, selected for research with prior permission from setting, willingness was asked to the students for study participation and informed consent was obtained. Structured questionnaire was used to assess the knowledge on stress management. Pre and Posttest was done with same tool. Evaluative approach was used.

Results: Result shows that 16.88 was the mean of pre-test and 6. 511 was SD. Whereas 24.84 was the mean of post-test knowledge, and 2.640 was SD.

Conclusion:

Improvement in the knowledge level of students shows the PTP was good method of teaching.
