Abstract

Despite technological advances until the present time, the majority of farmers in Albaha, Saudi Arabia still use the conventional extension way that doesn’t optimize the use of water and the quality of a product as well. Meanwhile, ICT has become the main power source and innovation driver that develops the use of farming technology. In the current study, we propose a smart Internet of the farming system that plays a vital role in enhancing farmers in Al-Baha to ameliorate their farming productivity by incorporating ICT. The accurate information utilized with the help of ICT is to guide farmers to predict the season of the harvest, fertilization, irrigation and other activities based on the use of technological tools to increase the yields. The proposed model uses the wireless cloud sensor to catch significant data remotely used in developing an agriculture to detect temperature, humidity, soil condition (moisture, water level), etc., and thus it sends them to some cloud storage servers at Albaha University. The adaptive knowledge will inventively handle the recorded data that will enable farmers to be able to restore the knowledge utilizing their smartphones by the use of the Internet.
