Abstract

We confirmed experimentally the possibility of controlling the quality of vegetable products (for example, green vegetables) by the method of non-root treatments with plant growth regulators when growing in closed agrobiotechnical systems with an adjustable system of temperature and humidity conditions, level and period of lighting. Improvement in product quality was noted for such indicators as organoleptic properties, content of chlorophyll A and B, dry matter content, and antioxidant activity. A decrease in the residual content of nitrates and toxic elements (lead, cadmium) in comparison with growing in protected ground was confirmed. Lettuce was registered an increased turgor of leaves and increased shelf life. The products were characterized by an increase in the content of B- and C-group vitamins (2–3 times). Product biotesting using test cultures Daphnia magna and Paramecium caudatum confirmed the absence of toxic effects of the preparations and revealed the stimulating effect of plant treatment with growth regulators on the rate of reproduction and protozoan development. This suggests the possibility of controlling the quality of vegetable crops when grown in closed urban-type anrobiotechnical systems. This allowed increasing nutritional value and consumer properties by activating the physiological processes in plants when treated with new generation growth regulators. We selected the most effective preparations for improving the quality of products: hydrothermal nanosilica with crezacin, agrovin Ca, and phytomineral. The data obtained can be used for practical purposes, i.e. for growing vegetables with a high level of consumer characteristics and nutritional value in closed agrobiotechnological systems.
