Abstract

The construction industry majorly depends on the use of various construction materials out of which cement is among the most widely used components in concrete that is of utmost importance. Cement is the glue binding concrete together, and portrays a major part in the properties of fresh and hardened concrete. After cement the next important used construction material in the form of chemical is superplasticizer, which is not only responsible for improving the strength properties of concrete furthermore helps in reducing the w/c content of it. This research focuses on the effect of poly-carboxylate based superplasticizer when used in the concrete mix. The goal of the current study is to inspect the likelihood of reducing water/cement content in superplasticizer induced concrete mix designs, keeping all the other desired properties for fresh and hardened concrete intact.
