An Exploratory Study of Adolescent Core Values for Holistic Development

Abstract

Human life without ethical values is impossible to imagine. The Greek philosopher, Aristotle said Man is a social animal and if someone lives outside either he is a God or a beast’. As humans always live in groups there is a need to have common set of values to guide our collective destiny, this is more so in the era global village. The present era is also known as the anthropogenic viz. humans hold the potential to transform the future of the earth and destiny of all its living creatures. The present study has been completed by using descriptive survey method for collecting data. The adolescent students of Mewat and Gurugram of Haryana were undertaken as the population of the study. The study found that 72.5% of the junior college students place high with integrity and followed by 61% with spiritual insight and the components forgiveness (33.5%), Judgment (33.17%), and Positivity (26%) are below 50%. The variables Gender, place of living medium of instruction and type of institution are influencing the practice of wisdom of Adolescent students.
