Abstract

To prolong the lifetime of wireless sensor network different strategy have been developed. Clustering is a technique to organize the nodes into cluster so that the all nodes in the network transfer information only to the cluster head which in turn transfer the aggregated information to the base station. Most of pre existing clustering approaches assume that the link between different sensor symmetric. This paper shows the how the network lifetime an energy consumption would be impact organize a sensor into a cluster using random cluster formation technique by considering asymmetric parameters between them. RSSI (Received Signal Strength Indicator) is an estimated power to determine the quality of signal to access point. Proposed algorithm organized nodes into clusters by considering the RSSI effect and residual energy that formed the asymmetric links as residual energy different at different instance. Simulation results show the proposed technique improved network lifetime and minimum energy consumption in comparison to LEACH.
