Influence of interpersonal characteristics on the success of ventures in IT
Abstract
This research seeks to identify the extent to which the success of information technology (IT) projects results from their workers’ capabilities, communication, and attachment to the business. The specific context of the study is the software industry in Pakistan, which is facing several issues. Primary data were collected from 303 participants across the twin cities of Islamabad and Rawalpindi, where most of the country’s IT industry is centered. A questionnaire was used to collect data from respondents working in the industry. Relationships in the data were analyzed using structural equation modeling with the help of AMOS21. The findings show that worker’ capability, as well as conversation, strongly impacts the success of IT projects and increases workers’ attachment. This study contributes to the field, especially regarding project management and information systems management, and presents significant implications for practitioners and academicians.
