Implementation of On/Off and PID Controller in Embedded System with IoT for Temperature Process

Abstract

The temperature plays vital role in process industries to complete a particular task.  The range of the temperature is varying from negative temperature to highest positive temperature in process industry. Different measuring unit with different controller are implemented to maintain the temperature.  The objective of this work is to develop a temperature control system for different temperature measuring unit. In some process industries different control unit with different measurement system are implemented for a process to achieve the task. In this work two set of temperature range is considered.  Thermistor based measuring unit is considered for the lower temperature range and thermocouple based measuring unit is considered for the higher temperature range. On-Off and PID controllers are considered and implemented in ATMEGA 328P microcontroller.  The output of the controller is send to NODEMCU for IoT interface with think speak platform. The efficiency of the developed system is verified in experimental study. The low cost developed system performance is good while compare with existing system.
