Comparison of Total Harmonic Distortions in various Solid State Transformer Topologies

Abstract

The interest in Solid-State Transformer (SST) has beenincreasingasareplacementforconventionaltransformer.As on todayvarious topologies of SST exists. Each topology has its own merits which makes it adaptable for various applications. Out of the various topologies available now, a Three stage SST configuration is apromising one.Thispaperprovides ananalysisofdifferent converter-inverter combinations of input and output stages of SST and comparison of them. The objective is to identify the most effective topology on the basis of THD (Total Harmonic Distortion). A Simulinkmodelcorrespondingtoeachcombinationissimulated and analyzed.
