Abstract

Rapid utilization of exhaustible energy resources has prompted the necessity of exploit energy from inexhaustible resources. The most influential and abundant sources of renewable energy in India is the solar energy. The nature of position changing of sun is the prime stumbling block of the application of solar energy. Because of that, the atmospheric temperature and irradiance intensity are altering through the day. This leads the way towards the variations in the extent of power production. In the direction of maximization of the power throughout different times of the day, a technique called Maximum Power Point Tracking (MPPT) is used. Various algorithms have already been developed to make the MPPT techniques operational. In this manuscript, performance of distinct solar MPPT techniques have been appraised, the leverage and shortcoming of these techniques are also mentioned. This manuscript provides a very fast access to researchers working in the area of improving the performances of MPPT and also helps in proposing the additional scope in same area for future research
