DevOps: Current Practices, Challenges and Implications

Abstract

DevOps is an emerging technology which is extended version of agile approach providing reliable quality and better communication between developers and operating team personnel. Now days DevOps is widely accepted in software industry due to its automated and continuous approach. It provides flow of features and integration between development and operation. This integration occurs due to ever changing business requirements. The main intention of this paper is to discover research directions in the area of DevOps. The paper first discusses the state of art in DevOps system, its need and methodologies developed for DevOps. Further paper outlines various challenges and benefits of implementing these methodologies. The paper also presents statistical analysis based on more than a decade.
