Abstract

A crystal clear conditions of waves, surf and currents of water is essential for sediment-dynamic,hydrodynamic and morpho dynamic processes. For management of coastal zones andin hardengineering, Numerical models of these processes helps to find the changes of the coastline and near shore sea bed which are increasingly used.  In  these recent environment , near shore operations requires Constant data  which consists of a complete and fast assessment conditions of the near shore environment .In  order to meet all these challenges Delft3D is used .DELFT3D is a software package  which  provides a sophisticated, 3dimensional modelling system. The study area is selected as Pulicat Lake in the Nellore district. To apply some modules of DELFT 3D on the Pulicat Lake is the main aim of this paper. In India, the second largest brackishwater body is the pulicat Lagoon afterChilika Lake, which measures 759 square kilometres. Firstly, Topo sheets of the study area is taken. Then Digitization of the data is done with the help of ARCGIS. Grid is generated using RGFGRID, then using QUICKIN, bathymetry is created. In DFLOW module, some flow attributes are applied. Results can be seen in QUICKPLOT. Finally, different modules of DELFT3D are applied on the Pulicat Lake.
