The Comparison of Physical Asset Management Models and Determination of Physical Asset Management Roadmap using DEMATEL Method (Case Study of Sarvak Azar Oil Field)

Abstract

The physical asset management system is a set of elements with a mutual and related effect on the organization to create asset management policies and objective goals for asset management and the processes required to achieve these objective goals. Elements of the asset management system are a set of tools including policies, plans, business processes, and information systems that are integrated to ensure that asset management activities are performed and the organization can manage assets, costs, risks and their performance during the assets life cycle, with the aim of realizing the organizational strategic plan, optimally and sustainably. In addition, physical asset management enables the use of analytical approaches for asset management during the various stages of its life cycle (which can start from the feeling of need for asset, and continue until its disposal, and include managing any potential liability after the disposal. The most important factors in implementation include: supporting top management of organization, creating organizational structure of physical asset manager, promoting physical asset management culture to maximize employee participation and comprehensive implementation of mechanized maintenance management system. Also in the first step, to evaluate the organization and train the staffs at all levels, we can use an experienced consultation in industries with specialization in maintenance and then besides having a framework and model in developing the system, using the ISO 55001 standard in developing a roadmap and using the organization's strategic process communication model with maintaining the important equipment of the organization, we can implement physical assets management. The present study is aimed to compare the common models of physical assets management and present a general method for determining the physical assets management roadmap of the organization using DEMATEL method
