Abstract

Many organic and inorganic substances are capable of ion exchange. Among inorganic ion exchangers, some naturally occurring aluminosilicates, zeolites, clays, apatites etc. are useful for inorganic chemists for the practical and technical purposes. Synthetic inorganic Ion Exchangers are very stable and selective as compared to organic or natural organic exchangers. In our study, Calcium molybdosilicate was prepared and were examined for its ion exchange properties towards certain metal ammine complexes namely Cu2+, Zn2+, Cd2+, Ni2+ and Co2+ by a batch equilibration technique as a function of pH, concentration and its ion exchange properties on the ionic potential of the counter ions were determined.
