Tourism Marketing Through Social Media After Covid-19 in Kerala

Abstract

Tourism has become an important part of an economy for the development of society as well as development of the nation.For this purpose a strong tourism marketing through social media is required.The impact, social media has made on the tourism industry is high.Everything has become online, similarly tourism has also become online.Social media has become a connecting element between tourists and people.Social media is being used by governments to promote their tourism and this kind of promotion has become the most effective method. People explore social networking sites to research about their trips,make  decisions about their travels and share their personal experiences of particular hotels, restaurants, places, transport etc.In this paper the research attempts to know the importance of social media for tourism marketing which helps in the overall development of  nation's economy.Due to coronavirus people around the world was forced to stay at their homes and immediate neighborhoods . During this pandemic situation our online world has  grown more wider and faster than that we could never imagine . Now half of the population relay on social media to complete their daily works . So most of the social media platforms are forced to adapt quickly to satisfy the needs of people . During this pandemic situation many companies allowed their employees to work from home social media helped a lot in it . Also all educational institutions are closed during this pandemic so now they rely on google docs , zoom, microsoft teams, whatsapp etc to conduct online classes and discussions . Social media helped a lot of people to communicate without breakage . Different social media platforms helped people to share live news and updates about the virus and many other issues . Social media helped  people to communicate with those who are stuck in different places due to this pandemic situation . During the lockdown social media was very important and helped  people to spend their time without getting bored .This study focuses on approaches adopted by various social media platforms towards achieving the ultimate goal of better tourism marketing and also finds how social media can help in an emergency situation. The relevant data of this data has been collected with the help of various research research journals, articles, online resources etc. The aim of this study is to discover whether tourism marketing is effective to customers after covid-19 for that information taken from newspapers to check whether customers are willing to go to tourist places after covid-19 and there are a number of safety measures which should be used to reach the destination and know whether tourism marketing reach the customers through social media as well as to check whether customers willing to travel after covid-19.
