An Overview of 5G Evolution in Fronthaul and Backhaul Networks

Abstract

Telecommunications being the major reason for the rapid growth of technology, wireless communications is the major mode of communications for people across the globe.  With the evolution of telecommunication technology starting from 2G, we stand here in the baby steps of 5G era –a key factor for fourth industrial revolution with all new use cases, scenarios, challenges and in turn new developments in technology to overcome those challenges. In this paper, we try to put forth the changes to be deployed in the current 4G networks to upgrade them to 5G compatible platforms. This paper also discusses set of use cases and scenarios of 5G and all possible new technologies that can ease the implementation of 5G networks in an efficient and cost-effective manner.
