Abstract

Digital to Analog converters (DAC) are the most important component in any digital systems now-a-days. Usually, it follows two important stages called Reconstruction and Interpolation. By preforming those two operations, any digital signal will be converted into analog (sinusoidal) signal but not accurately. It will give distorted signal (weak signal) as output. Taking this disadvantage into consideration, proposed of DAC using Ring Oscillators had done. Ring Oscillator is a type Voltage Controlled Oscillator (VCO) which will generate frequency of required. In this paper, construction of DAC using Ring VCO and its performance been analyzed by varying the single digital bit which is taken as input. The output, analog signal will change its frequency according to the changes in input. For input 0, one frequency, and for input 1, another frequency will be generated. Only two frequencies have been used in this model. Mentor graphics tool is used to design the DAC. the Result, frequency of the oscillations is getting changed by varying the input which is in digital form.
