Abstract

Spiritual intelligence (SI) increases a person’s ability to understand the purpose of his/her life, connect with peers and superiors, and align values with those of the organization. Across various sectors, the HR personnel are using spiritual resources for motivating their workforce and improving the work–life balance (WLB). Many studies have understood the role of spirituality, but its importance in a selling organization and to the sales trainer is yet to be acknowledged. Therefore, this research tries to seek a correlation between SI and WLB in the context of sales trainers. It was observed that SI positively influenced the WLB of sales trainers, and a good WLB could lead to improved productivity, commitment to the company, efficiency, lesser absenteeism, and loyalty. The results of the study can help HR managers in evaluating and developing the SI of their sales trainers and aligning it with the goals of the organization, which could become an important strategy for the organization. Also, constructs ‘personal meaning’ and ‘transcendental awareness’ were seen to be strong predictors of WLB, implying that SI provides new insights to personal and career goals, including the need for spirituality for a better life.
