Abstract

Corrosion as a result of the aggressive environment has been a significant phenomenon that depreciates the mechanical properties, useful-life of assets maintains structural stability, sustainability, proper monitoring required was periodically inspected. Non-destructive monitoring has enormous applications in construction, manufacturing, maintenance of structures. while the destructive methods are limited to the use of samples, they may not adequately represent the whole structure of substantial difference in material and exposure environment. This has increased the adoption of non-destructive methods, which provide rapid information about the entire structure. Therefore, monitoring systems that can detect the corrosion state of the structure, causes of corrosion, and the evolution of corrosion phenomena over time are in high demand. This paper, therefore, presents an assessment of the structural condition of an industrial mining plant based on non-destructive methods for corrosion monitoring.
