Dual-band Microstrip Dipole Antenna with Defected Ground Structure for Wireless Communication Applications

Abstract

Microstrip antenna is using in most of the electronics application for data communication. There are various shapes and pattern is proposed by researchers. Microstrip dipole antenna is also a good design for wireless communication applications. This paper proposed a novel design of microstrip dipole antenna for wifi, wi-max wireless communication applications. The CST microwave studio software is used to proposed antenna design and simulation. The resonant frequency of this antenna is 2.6GHz and 4.3GHz. Overall bandwidth achieved by proposed antenna is 3GHz. The large bandwidth is applicable for next generation or 5G communication applications.
